Movie Overview
Secret Superstar is a 2017 Indian Hindi-language melodic dramatization movie composed and coordinated by Advait Chandan, and produced by Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao under the studio Aamir Khan Productions. The film stars Zaira Wasim, Meher Vij, Raj Arjun and Aamir Khan. The film recounts to the story about growing up of a high school young lady who tries to be a singer, transferring recordings on YouTube while camouflaging her personality with a niqab, and her associations with her mom, father and coach. The film manages social issues including woman’s rights, sex balance and abusive behavior at home. The film got positive reviews from pundits. Wasim won the Public Kid Grant for Excellent Accomplishment. Secret Superstar got ten designations at the 63rd Filmfare Grants, including Best Movie, Best Director for Chandan, Best Actress for Wasim, and Best Supporting Actor for Khan. It won three Filmfare Grants, including Best Actress (Pundits) for Wasim, Best Supporting Actress for Vij, and Best Playback Singer (Female) for Meghna Mishra.
Insia Malik, a long term old young lady, lives with her Gujarati Muslim family in Baroda, including her mom Najma, her sibling Guddu, her great mother, and her harsh dad Farookh who regularly beats his significant other. Insia is extremely energetic about singing yet her dad is against her fantasy about being a singer. He leaves town for work and returns just once every week. In spite of the fact that Insia can’t take an interest in a music rivalry, Najma endowments Insia a PC which was the prize. She records a melody wearing a niqab, so Farookh can’t discover her character, and transfers the video on YouTube under the name of ‘Secret Superstar’. Every one of the three go to the honors service where Insia has been selected for Best Female Singer. Sadly, Secret Superstar doesn’t win the honor. Yet, the champ, Monali Thakur, hands over the honor to her who goes ahead stage. Insia uncovers her character to everyone and devotes her honor to Najma and regards her the genuine ‘Secret Superstar’ since she upheld and battled for Insia consistently. She drops the mic and embraces Najma.
